The journal is well received amongst the researchers, dental and medical institutions as well as dental professionals in India. There are approximately 300 dental institutions/schools, more than one lakh dental professionals and about 20,000 postgraduate specialists practicing in India. Over the years it has become a source of high quality literature and research done on the Indian population in the field of dental sciences by the Indian researchers, which is matter of great pride. The research & the studies related to Indian population has unique significance to the international community because of varied geographic, socio-economic & cultural practices prevalent in India. The high prevalence of oral cancer & periodontal diseases related to tobacco use is one such example.
